Questions before you call

What is a Class A roof?

A roof covering with the highest of the three fire ratings. Most roofs qualify, including asphalt shingle, concrete tile and metal. Wood shake does not.

What is an ember-resistant vent?

A vent covered with corrosion-resistant metal mesh, with openings from 1/16 to 1/8 inch. Your building department or inspector confirms the rule for your address.

What is Safer from Wildfires?

A California Department of Insurance program listing ten actions that each qualify a home for an insurance discount. We never quote the discount.

Will a new roof get my insurance renewed?

We can't say. Only your insurer decides, and your agent can tell you what yours credits.

Do you do defensible-space clearing?

No. We give you a checklist and do the roof ring: gutters, vents and the edge.

Do you work under solar panels?

Yes. Your solar installer takes them off and puts them back; we work between their visits.

What does the inspection cost?

Nothing is due at the visit, and the written estimate states every price before you sign.

Do you need a deposit?

Deposit and payment terms are written on the estimate before you sign, and we go through them at the visit.

Do you offer financing?

Not directly. If that changes, the lender, rate and term would be printed beside any payment amount.

Who comes to the house?

A crew lead, usually Jesus, who goes on the roof and writes up the findings.
